In simplest terms, a coalition is a group of individuals and/or organizations with a common interest who agree to work together toward a common goal. This section discusses what a community coalition or partnership is, why and when it can be a good strategy, who should be included, and how to implement it. In these cirumstances, putting together a coalition of groups and individuals can be an effective strategy for changing the programs and policies - in schools, business, government, and other relevant sectors - that are needed to solve the problem or achieve the goal.
